Hard Training
I am now hitting the mileage and preparing for the Commonwealth Marathon. The race in on Thursday 14th October and each day this is getting closer. The aim now is to combine the mileage with some good quality sessions. It obviously showed on Sunday at the Great Yorkshire 10k that I was lacking the sessions where I work on my speed. But this is not a great issue as I am running the marathon at the Games and not a 5k!!!
The rest of our family holiday went well and now I have returned to work life goes back a routine which is better for me. During the week days I know what I am doing each minute of each day and this helps plan training, work and life. When I am on holiday from work things just merge together and before you know it you have wasted a whole day.
I have had a few discussions recently with Martin Rush from England Athletics about heat chambers. Hopefully this will all be sorted early this week and then I can start heading off to Leeds to use the facilities there. The plan is to go to Doha on 4th October where the current temperature is 42oc+. It wont be as hot on India but will still be hot enough to notice and take effect during the marathon.
I have just looked when the next school holiday is and its not till the end of October. Roll on October!!!

To make a living Andi!
Bryn R Posted on September 7th, 2010Thankfully really enjoy my job - that said even when I've done stuff I haven't particularly enjoyed (e.g. data entry stuff for fedex) I often trained an awful lot better. I knew I had to get up at 6am to train or else I wouldn't be able to... Living the uni lifestyle you just think "oh well, I'll train at 11,12,1,2,3.. oh crap now I'm screwing up my evening run...".
Really good luck for Commies - sure that you're using thoughts of Barcelona to spur you on.
Love my job or else I wouldn't do it!
Andi Jones Posted on September 6th, 2010Why do people do stuff they don't like? I get to work with 1200 people who all like school and enjoy coming to school, well most of the time anyway!
I find it a good job to have and run. I get to run in the morning and the evenings. If things are well planned and I use my time wisely when at work at get most of my work done before going home.
Would you say you you enjoy your job Andi?
