Pain!!!!
It's finally arrived! We go on holiday on Tuesday and it seems to have been booked for so long. We have been telling Kadi that shes going on a plane for months now and I get the impression she thinks 'oh yeah, whatever, you tell me this everyday'. She wont remember the last time she went on a plane as it was a whole year ago. Looking forward to seeing her face when we go hurtling down the run way. At least this time she is over 2 years old so can have her own seat. Last time she had to sit on someones knee but we were lucky as Donnas sister, brother-in-law and nephew came with us. This time we are going alone so as Donna tops her tan up I will be cahsing Kadi round Spain trying to keep her out of trouble!!
This week I have done slightly less running. Having raced Meerbrook and Saddleworth 6 we decided that an easier week might be needed. Saddleworth 6 was good and I ran 30mins but I wanted to run quicker. My right leg had been causing a bit of pain. I was getting a tight spot at the top of the right hamstring and felt like it was affecting my stride. I suppose I had this niggle last week but just got on with it. By Thursday morning I didn't bother running with Hardman as my leg was tight so got in with Paul at Athlete Matters. He managed to see me at the end of his working day which I am very grateful for. He spent a bit of time doing some soft tissue massage and then mentioned acupuncture.
I have never had this done before but know Paul believes in it and really talks highly about the benefits of it. So he got on with it and it did seem to help. Since then I ran on Friday and Saturday for about 7 miles each day. Today I was doing an hour but bumped in to Raven so ended up going for 13 miles. Leg was good and I was happy to be moving freely again. Another physio session booked for Monday night. When I go away I will be looking to run each day, twice some days and will be looking to increase my mileage. Will have a look at the area we are going to and work out where I could do sessions. I have never been to Benidorm but Donna has many times. The only reason we are going to Benidorm is because Donna knows she will get some good English food! I will eat anything, so will Kadi, but Donna likes either curry or good old English foods.
I will try and add a blog update next week or at least my training log. I am sure I will find an Internet place. Can't afford to take the Iphone after the bill we just got from the European Championships. Only there four days but having been on facebook and Twitter it soon mounts up!!!
Well done to Dave Norman on his sub 30 10k the other night. I was with his brother the same night in Manchester where Andy also did a sub 30, but this was eating with no hands and drinking beer!!!
