Thursday - AM - 3 x 10min Kenyan Hills up Primrose hill off 90 secs, then 5 x 2mins hard along the canal off 2mins. 5.50miling for the hills and 4.50ish for the 2 mins after. Was tough running hard up hills at 7.15am (13)
PM - 51 mins steady (8)
Friday - 2 hours steady with John and Jim at 6.15miling. Is John's stag do so had to move the long run to today, Felt fine. (19)
Saturday - Rest. I drank beer last night. My one exception to my alcohol ban is john's stag do so felt pretty bad today!
109.5 miles. Pretty big week for 6 days running! Happy with it considering how tired I felt on Monday. Easy days around the stag do but avoided a cold and so I think it was worthwhile!

Hague
Hi! Well yes, I'm hoping Hague will be a better race in terms of the course as well as the competition. wokingham was great but you can't beat having to race 3 or 4 people in the last 3 miles to get the best out of yourself. My PB there was pretty unexpected, considering my training stage and I'm hoping the runs I've done since then mean I'm in better shape also. I'll take a PB of course, I think 63.59 is stretching it but I think sub 64.30 is *possible* if everything goes amazingly.
Ben Posted on March 10th, 2010In terms of the training this week, it's all been toned down. I did 6 x 1600m on Tuesday alternating between tempo pace and 10k pace: 4.58, 4.43, 4.54, 4.40, 4.55, 4.35 and will do some tempo tomorrow and then easy running until Sunday. I think this week will be 70-80 miles, so definitely an easier week!
Fingers crossed for a good race!
Beer is good for you, well sometimes at least!
Hague Posted on March 10th, 2010I see you are doing the Hague Half marathon on Sunday. I was wondering what kind of time you were looking at running since you got so close to breaking 65 at Wokingham? I assume the minumum you would like to walk away with is 64:59 but could we see a 63:59 attempt given you'll presumably be a lot fresher? What are your plans for this week given it's a reasonably key race (I assume) ie sessions/mileage?
thanks and good luck
