Back into the swing of it

Well I'm now back to double days and although the volume and intensity isn't as much as normal, the frequency is pretty much the same now. I'm now phasing out the late nights and excessive 'enjoyment' and getting more into the routine I'm used to. I've still got to meet up with Nick and plan what I'm doing next year but I know it will involve a spring marathon, and probably London. Brighton is also an option, but it's the day after a wedding where I am best man. I couldn't go to a wedding I was best man at this year because of London and so DNS ANOTHER one would be too much to bear I think....

Based on the field that is being talked about at London in terms of Brits, it looks like it could be quite exciting. I'm looking forward to see what Scott Overall can do over the marathon, and it's great that we're getting more people to do it rather than people treating it as a last resort or something you do when you're too slow over the shorter stuff. Too many British athletes are too keen to stick to the shortest distance they can get away with rather than stepping up to see what they can achieve over a marathon.

In terms of the rest of 2010, I'll just be getting back to fitness and not rushing things, with some low key XC races in December or end of November I expect. Nothing too exciting, and you won't see me featuring at the Euro Trials!

Hope you're all well, and coping with runnign in the cold and dark...

Ben
