Feeling good, mainly
Hi all,
Sorry, I haven't blogged for over a week but I've been busy, honest! Well, I've not really had any races to test me greatly going into Bristol, but I feel good on runs and that's one of the best signs to me. When I can pop out 70minute runs at close to 6 minute miling feeling like my legs could cope with lots more, that's when I expect a good race, and that's how I feel right now. Sessions have been a bit up and down, but all my tempo stuff has been on my own and I never ever seem to hit out quick tempo runs. However, I did a session with James Connor this week and did 20minutes tempo both ebfore and after it and I joined him for the reps. We were doing close to 5.50 for 2k reps and 2.50ish for the 1ks, and it felt comfortable to me. This was a big bonus to me, as I've been a bit worried that I'd lost touch with anyhting quicker than 75second laps since early July when I ran the AAA 10k, yet this felt fine, after a 20minute tempo and I wasn't really working that hard to reach these times.
Otherwise, I've done a few 90miute runs recently midweek, and these feel good. I'm not quite at the 110 miles a week mark where I'll be for marathon build up but I'm in the 90s regularly and am pretty happy generally. Hopefully things will stay this way!
Hope you're all ok,
Ben

Hi Hayley,
Ben Posted on September 2nd, 2009Sorry for the late reply! Yes, I was at Oxford until about 2004 or so (spent 7 years there!) If you have any questions, feel free to ask. It's got some really good running routes and a good bunch of keen guys there. You'll enjoy it I'm sure!
