Injured! Argh. Oh, no, it's ok.
I felt a small twinge in my shin when I was doing my Sunday run, but I get twinges and little aches and pains all the time and it felt ok for the rest of the run. However, as the evening wore on later it was getting pretty sore and was becoming a slight concern. It was the tendons on the inside of the shin, where I've had a problem 2 or 3 years ago. The next day it hurt to walk, and moving my foot up and down caused discomfort also. I took a rest day and iced it and used ibuprofen gel and mysteriously it got better as the day wore on. And now the pain is there if I prod it quite hard, but have done a couple of runs without any pain whatsoever, so I think it's a false alarm. Phew!
Not tried any faster stuff on it yet, but it's not reacting badly to running on it and so hopefully it will continue to heal!

WE WANT GREAT SOUTH Posted on October 27th, 2009Hey Matt,
Ben Posted on October 22nd, 2009It's continued to improve, which is a relief. A couple of years ago I sprained my ankle and it put me out for 2 weeks, and then I rushed back for the European XC trials, and then within a couple of days I had chronic tendonitis, with crepitus and all that fun: I couldn't run much at all for 10 days or so. It showed no signs of improvement at all until it gradually just disappeared over a few days, mysteriously. think it was down to hurrying back into full training after 14 days of pretty much nothing. Most of my injury issues over the years have come from this!
hi
mattster Posted on October 21st, 2009had/have this same issue for 8 months, mine was down to poor biomechanics and now orthotics are managing it ( FINGERS CROSSED ) and for the first time in months im stringing training together ( what was ur problem 2/3 years ago, out of interest?),i still get the sore spot along shin, but a real good stretch, targeting all the leg muscles up to back seem to resolve it and ice ! hope its ok, .....
Please keep us updated on the twinge Ben - we are all EXTREMELY uninterested, i mean interested. Sorry, froidian slip old boy.
