Finsbury Park Parkrun 5k
Well I'll keep this race report brief - it was intended as a run to sharpen me up for the European Club Champs next week and it's always easier to run hard in a proper racing environment than a training environment. In my last outing here just before the Commonwealths I ran 15.07, and I hoped to run about the same again, especially after my awesome tempo run on Thursday.
Alas it was not to be. It was FREEZING cold and very windy and I think my legs were a bit tired from Thursday to be honest. I was never really in the zone and once I'd battled with the wind the first time, I knew it wasn't going to happen. Still, the purpose was just to run hard, which I did, so mission accomplished! I won in 15.49, and then much to everyone's confusion, did another lap just at tempo effort in 16.47 to make it a good training day.
Splits: 2.59, 3.21, 3.16, 3.01, 3.11.
