Hi all welcome back hope all is good in you’re running life

It was a great start to the week just got Alfie and Nicola back home to start are first big chapter in are new life as a family, training was going really well felt very good in the sessions that we were doing and I was looking forward to racing in Manchester and looking for a good pb (spoke to soon).

Thing started to take a turn for the worse on Wed night when we only got 2 hrs sleep and the same Thursday night we knew something wasn’t write I know that babies do wake up but Alfie didn’t look good either and by Friday we decided to take Alfie to the Hospital, but we didn’t want to be one of these new parents that worried about everything but because he had a bad infection when he was born we weren’t taking any chances and I am glad we did as he had another infection so he had to go back in Hospital to start new treatment.

Which meant him staying in hospital all weekend so it meant me pulling out of Manchester which I was gutted about but Family has to come before racing

Nicola did want me to go but it didn’t feel write to leave them and I would have been worrying all night and day if they are ok, so I must say sorry to Keith Donkin the south Manger for dropping out as I knew he was having problems before I added to them but I will make it up next time.

Alfie has responded well to the new treatment and was allowed home Monday but have to take him back every 2 days for the next 2 weeks for them to keep an eye on.

I didn’t realize how much I needed my sleep before Alfie arrived only getting 3/4hrs a night is tough when working and training I think I am doing all right off it at the moment they say the first six weeks is the hardest I should ask Sharpy to see if it is true but sessions are going well just need to get a race in to see were I am at looking at the field at Manchester I would like to think I would been around the 29:30 pace but we will have to wait and see when I race .

Got loads of races in July and August but finding it hard to find some decent road races in June if any one knows any please let me know would be grateful in till then just keep putting in the sessions and the runs and even track sessions cant wait !!!!!!!

I would like to congratulate my team mate Owain Matthews for a good run at Manchester a pb of 30:29 and that was after running 30:47 at Bristol so well done mate good job on to the track now mate and well done to everyone else who took part hope you all run well if not onto the next race don’t dwell on it

That’s all for now I can feel my eyes going need some sleep before little man wakes up and before I go training  got to take the sleep when you can

Have a good week all, next week I will let you know how I am getting on with my new Garmin I got for my b day and to see if it makes my training more efficient cant do any worse as my coach would say in till them take care
