Update
Hi all hope everything is ok and that you have managed to get out and train in this lovely weather that we are having at the moment very festive I must say.
So for not blogging last week we bought a new computer and it has taken me over a week to set it up and transfer files etc. over to the new computer I am quite proud of myself as I didn’t need any help doing this as I am not really a computer person only the game type but it is all done I think I must have run out of swear words to be honest.
It has been a very solid couple of weeks of training and things are heading in the right direction and I am happy with how things a progressing, can’t wait for January to start racing on the cross country ,I have too races planned over Christmas one is a 10 miler and the other is a cross country race don’t know what the standard will be put I need to put in a few little races to get me going before January ,and also it is good to do these instead of the sessions even if I win by a way it will let me know how I am feeling and trying things out in the race which I wouldn’t be able to do in the big races .
This week started of really well And the sessions were going could in till Thursday when the ice and sleet fell making the session a little bit more tricky ,and by Sat we had about a foot of snow so had to bin the session Sat and just do what I could an easy 1hr 10 run with Owain but to be honest it was like doing a session hard work, but it will make me tougher am sure, Owain was apparently meant to be going to Australia to day but has been grounded and forced to travel back from Heathrow not knowing if he will get there for chrimbo, feel gutted for him and all the other people trying to get home to loved ones(but on the plus side I might have my training partner back for Christmas .
All Christmas shopping has been done are spare room looks like Santa’s grotto I am sure we have more stock than toy r us but I can’t wait to open them sorry I mean Alfie can’t wait to open them, going to try and relax a little over Christmas but while putting the hard training in as well as all the normal stuff with visiting the Family but as well as trying to rest haven’t been able to do that since little man was born(wouldn’t change it for the world tho )but would be nice to have may be an 1hr on the Xbox here is wishing .
That’s about it for this blog would just like to wish all the Runnerslife Team a Merry xmas and a happy New Year, and the same goes to the people who have read my blogs and supported me over the last year really appreciate it and of course the whole of the website we couldn’t do it without you guys/girls reading and supporting it.
Next time I blog it will be Boxing Day we will all be fed up had a enough of are Family and be on E bay trying to flog are presents we didn’t want don’t you just love Christmas

Hi John,
John Posted on December 19th, 2010you`re coach is write about being a replacement for sessions but as you said once that gun goes ur racing brain takes over and you want too win, just like me but what you can do if you know once you are racing that can win then try to do some differnt tactics that you wouldnt get to do in a big race and you will find that you get alot out of the race, thank you have a good xmas and New Year and thanks for reading my blogs.
kind regards
Races as sessions

Jon Posted on December 19th, 2010All this tough weather hard training is having its toll on my performances and ability to keep to coaches training schedules so like you I have decided to do a few 5 and 10k races just to keep the mind in check, beat the boredom and get some enjoyment from getting back to races. Coach says they should be as a replacement for a session, but once started I find it difficult not to push hard and aim to win the race or at leat go faster than in a session tempo run. After all isnt this what we run for?
Looking forward to getting away from it all on 25th and get stuck in over the snowy country- and run off the big dinner!
Have a great time enjoying the family etc and training hard as usual- we never give in!
Heres to a successful running 2011
Cheers and thanks for some great past blogs
