hills
cheers Darren for your advice.
john b Posted on February 1st, 2010Which would be best in my case:
10 x 300m with jog down recovery
OR
20 x short hill sprints say 30 sec with walk backwards down recovery?
Need to improve over hills during races and need to conquer the dread of hill session training which is not helping my confidence or self belief.
Sorry to bother you, hope you understand my situation.
Hill sessions
Hi John hill session there are no easy hill sessions the thing is you have to lift your`e legs and arm s just like you are sprinting to get momentum and try and relax which is key, i would be worried if you wasnt feeling tied at the end it,you should see me at the end of hill reps it means you are pushing your`e self, thanks for the comment hope this helps in some way
Darren Posted on January 31st, 2010Spinning
Cormac hi i started spinning about 5yrs ago i used to teach a class 2 a week, but stopped about a 2 yrs ago but i have a spinning bike so i still do do sessions by myself which i think helps build up stamia and concentration thanks for your`e comment
Darren Posted on January 31st, 2010Hill sessions- hard and painful
Hi Darren
John Brown Posted on January 27th, 2010My training group have started a weekly hill session which I dread as my legs just wont go fast and my breathing is very deep and I feel fatigued and exhausted after the session,
Can you offer any advice or tips to help me to survive these vital sessions for success in xc leter.
Thanks
Spinning
Hi Darren, I thought it was interesting to read that you include spinning as part of your training? Do you do group spinning sessions? How does the spinning help your running?
Cormac Posted on January 26th, 2010Session
Thanks yeah Tues Session went really well , the mile loop was on the road a mile loop we use ,hopefully the half target is in range as long as trainng goes right, thanks for your`e comment
Darren Posted on January 25th, 2010Your tuesday session was great. Was it on a track? I'd say looking at that range your in very good shape and I think your half marathon target looks very realistic.
