1st April, My retirement from the sport
This instalment of my Runnerslife blog, is the one where I sadly announce my retirement from the sport. Not because of injury or illness, but because it is clear my public image has dropped. The annual results from the Runnerslife website, saw me down in 6th place for this month’s hits and that’s just not good enough.
I have loved my time in the sport and never ran any races for any medals, international vests or times, but was all about the love of the public. Other sites such as letsrun.com I use to see my name mentioned all the time, but no one cares now. This leaves me feeling with these lastest published results, that my name is no longer in the public interest and that its time to step out the back door.
I do wish my friends at Runnerslife all the best for the future, and that they don’t crave or need the public’s love as much as me.
Thanks for all the good times!
Cheers James ‘No longer loved’ Thie
