Hello everyone from my honeymoon in Las Vegas. It’s 7pm on Monday night and I’ve just got back from my first run as a married man. Just rolled a sluggish 8 miler in 53mins- feeling a bit tired and sun burnt! Yes, us Brit’s never learn, as first day in the sun, the wife and I both caught the sun, but hey never mind- will be back out again it tomorrow.

Thanks to Simon and the Runnerslife team for putting the kind the words up about my wedding at the weekend and I just had fun reading Neil’s account of the event. From mine and Alex’s (the new Mrs Thie’s) point of view we thought it went great, and hearing back from so many people they have said the same. We had great weather, which helps, but also a great crowed and a great party. Wad really fun to have a load of running friends, some from years back and some I still run with now. It’s funny as everyone had random links, as the running community is a small one, and everyone is only a few degrees of separation away from everyone else. Was really grateful for Neil making the effort to come down, and bring his stunning and lovely German girlfriend Kati. Hopefully she enjoyed the day and saw Clevedon at its best. Another good friend to track down was Ian Mitchell who I work with at Reebok, he made a huge effort to come down from Leeds and I can’t wait for him to start flying again after his Achilles operation a while back.

Lucky for me to find ‘the one’ for me in Alex, as wedding are stressful and I will never being doing that one again! But I did really enjoy the day, and we even had a surprise-wedding dance that went down a treat. Then as Neil mentioned my older brother Mike had but together a video as part of the stag night in the theme of 1970’s cops and the Beastie Boys Sabotage video- it is total class and You tube for all to see, click this link below:

I can’t say the day could have got any better, and we are so grateful to all the guest and those that helped in anyway. Plus on the morning I got a good hour run in, which always helps set you up for a good day! Then on the flights out we got upgraded to traveller plus on British airways and drank champagne all the way, and that was after we were given free champagne at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant at the airport! Can’t really get any better than that!

So e plan on chilling in Vegas till Wednesday then we have a Elvis blessing, and then we are here until Sunday.
