New routine
Hello all, hopefully some of you liked my story about getting back from the Vegas honeymoon. That was the short version and someday I will tell the whole story! Well since getting back life has not really gone back to normal as now have an job with Welsh Athletics as Competitions Manager. I had the interview when I got back, so managed to compose myself after a busy and crazy few days to impressive enough. I started on Monday and have really enjoyed it so far, as it’s a job about athletics and running. I have some great ideas for the future, but know its important not to try and ‘re-event the wheel’. As need to keep things simple, following what has worked and then slowly introduce new ideas. It Would be fun to introduce some new events and hopefully keep athletics fun and interesting, which is the way it should and needs to be. This weeks has been great for getting back into a routine, as over the last few months it went out of the window. Its been good getting up at 7am and then going straight on the cross trainer for 45mins, before a shower, getting dressed, breakfast and then out the door at 8:30am. My work is at the new Cardiff International Sports Stadium, which is perfect for future track sessions. I have been able to train every day after work, which is now starting increase after my break. Both my Achilles are still giving me issues and I might even try a third epidural in a month or so. If that doesn’t work then I can only see surgery as the final option, as everything else has been only given temporary relief. Still for the first time I am really struggling in athletics everything else is coming together. But I do really feel this new structure will actually help my running, as I need to refocus and everything else going on has enabled me to do that. Hopefully if the next few months training will progress, and the epidural go well then I could be hopefully flying by the end of the summer. Thanks again for all the kind message pre and post wedding, Always very grateful for any support, Cheers james

you!!!! James
The return from Vegas is amazing, but somehow of all of the athletes I have worked with, it happening to you probably surprises me the least of all!
