11th March 2009, No Crufts this year!

I’m starting to feel like a human pin cushion after blood test number 4! With another one next week this is not a fun time. I would of course feel better if they knew what was wrong me, but hopefully test number 4 and 5 might shed some light on it!

It’s not just me in our household under the weather, as my dog “pre’ has been ill as well over last few weeks. I did hold out hope that we could defend our Canix Crufts title last Friday, as I was still thinking of running. Yes thats right, defend our title! As we won at Crufts last year and lived off the fame for a while!I thought I could still click out a solid on mile effort, but then when my dog ‘Pre’ went down ill I saw that as a sign. He was still not right the day before, so we pulled out, as didn’t want to cause him any harm, me I don’t mind doing that, but for him that would not be fair!

So my total rest continues, but have been really enjoying my coaching over the last few weeks. I have a lad going BUCS this week who has really hit some good sessions in last few weeks, I think he’s set for a good position, just need to get heats out the way first. i will keep you all posted on his races overthe weekend.

Also want to say well done to Sp8y for his indoor season and that I know how hard the Finals can be (European indoor finals 2005/07) whether it’s a level playing field I have my doubts as ‘the others’ seem to recover faster!  Also well done to Drapes- as massive Pb and then Mr Pacemaker in the final, I wonder how many fast track races that will get you in the summer! Then the cancelled race series, really disappointed for Simon and Charles, as I know how much time, effort and money go into creating events, and it’s a crying shame it was not supported in the way it should have been.

Still let’s stay positive and see what else we can create through Runnerslife, and I hope the quality of this (mine) Runnerslife improve shortly, as ‘I’m sick of feeling sick’

cheers james
