Nos Galan 5k

NOS GALAN 5km, 8^TH 15:47

Around 10,000 people turned out on New Year's Eve for the Nos Galan Races - and they were delighted to discover Olympic legend Linford Christie was special guest at the event's 50th anniversary. After lighting the Nos Galan beacon, Christie said how much he had enjoyed the event: "Enjoyment is an understatement - it's been brilliant!" he said.

Having won this race 4 times in four appearances I was hoping to find a big one and return to form. But it wasn't to be and I felt bad from the gun. I was in the lead group at a mile but not feeling myself and drifted off the pace and towards a painfully slow 15:47. This was very disappointing but the only positive was my glands felt up at the end- which properly means I'm fighting something off, so wasn't the 'real' me out there. Need an easy few days and hopefully it will 'tick' again!
