Trainingsession 25/04/11 - 1/05/11
Mon - am 40mins easy - Knackered this morning. pm - REST
Tue - am 35mins easy pm Blackwoods session - 5mins,4mins,3mins,2mins,1min. Happy with session on my own, lapped the 5min effort in 2:41, 2:41 for the 4min and 2:38 for the 3min effort. Had planned to go on track but windy evening.
Wed - am 75mins with Harry Harper pm Swimming + Land training
Thurs - am 45mins easy pm 8x300m - 1st speed session of the summer with David Devine a paralympic athlete from our club. He's a 1:53 800m runner. 39,40,40,41,41,41,42,42. Suicide on the 1st effort and paid the price for the rest of the session. 39 felt easy though which is promising.
Fri - 25mins shakeout as had a sore throat. Loads of vitamin c and hot drinks.
Sat - Had planned a session of 5x8mins but dropped out after the 1st effort as ran through 2 laps of the woods in 6:20, 20 secs down from were I should be and felt awful. Although my throat felt better when I woke up my hamstrings were so sore from Thursdays session and I could hardly walk never mind do a session. My whole body ached so decided at this time of the year to bin the session off and save it for another day.
Sun - 90mins with Matt Barnes over in Liverpool for the day. Felt much better today - throat and legs seem to have eased up. Missed swimming to play it on the safe side.
Always seem to end up with a cold during exam period, I don't know if its stress or overloading with maintaining training levels at the same time as revising and sitting exams. Only got 2 more exams left though, providing I have no resits this summer.
