Liverpool 10k

I will be perfectly honest, I did this race for the brown envelop at the end of the race!  We put all those miles in and hard sessions so sometimes its nice to get a bit of money every now and again it makes it worthwhile!  Particularly as I am now down to 1 day a week in work.

The race went well though, but the conditions where so bad, it didn't stop raining the whole race and as a result the 1st 100m and last 800m on the grass where so wet and turned up.  If the weather carries on the Euro Trails in Sefton Park are going to be a bloody nightmare, it's already like a bog.  I'm pretty sure the k markers were way out on the way round, my 1st k was 3:08, then 6:16 through 2k, the next one I got was 15:25 at half way.  It was quite twisty and turny but I crossed the line in 29:58 on my watch and Dave's watch and the commentator even said it was sub 30 but unfortunately they gave me 30:00! Gutted.  29:xx sounds so much better than 30:xx but not to worry.  I took over 30secs off my time from last year and went on to take over a minute off at Leeds a few weeks later so if I can do that again this year I will be made up!  Another pb for Soph as well, it's becoming an annoying habit now, she came 3rd in 38:16.
