The Weekend's Racing

This weekend see's the BUCS cross country race with possibility of two RunnersLife athletes taking part in Nick Goolab and Ryan McLeod. Soon to be moving up the ranks Nick Goolab will be taking on the 11k course and might be a shock to the system as he is used to only 6k, Nick comments "The jump of 6k to 11k will probably be a massive shock, but it is a stepping stone in getting used to senior cross country running". He is however training well and will be looking for a good performance not just for himself but for his team (Birmingham Uni) who have a chance of taking a medal "We have a good team on paper and I believe we can easily medal. It's four to score and we have a few guys who are in very similar shape at the moment so to make the scoring four could be tough in itself".

Ryan McLeod, running for loughborough Uni may also take part the race on the weekend who himself has been running very well over the country this winter espcially in the recent Edinburgh XC.

Meanwhile on the roads Steve Sharp will be heading to Alsager for one of the fastest 5mile race's in the UK with former RunnersLife athlete and now one of Steve's athletes, Phil Nicholls may also be racing. Steve is getting used to fatherhood and is looking to a good performance on the weekend saying "The last 2 weeks training have gone ok. I have managed a few good sessions with Goolab and Nicholls. This Tuesday was a standard 10*400 off 1 minute in 64's."

Good luck to the RunnersLife athletes and anyone else racing this weekend.
