Tough Week!!
I was going to say the summer has well and truly began because the week started off with some nice weather but then it has got colder as the week went on and on some morning runs I have put my headband and gloves back on as it was quite cold with the wind on the seafront.
Ive had quite a tiring and stressful week what with working in two places (Hotel and Gym) plus training. Thank god its only temporary because im shattered - call me a wimp, i dont care- but as of this week I am now working in Liz's Gym which is much better as they obviously understand that it has to fit around my training but also my racing schedule (the whole reason I moved here) as my other boss did get a bit funny when I told her I couldn't rearrange the races for another weekend.... Im not sure she quite got the point of it and the fact that they werent going to rearrange the national cross around whether I could turn up or not, somehow I just dont think im big time enough for them to even consider it. Maybe next year :
Trainings going pretty well at the moment although this week has been a bit dodgy for me as I seem to have been a bit 'flat' in training but last week was really good and its started picking up again now so not too worried. Ive never really had training like it in terms of sessions, like some sessions comprise of only 3 reps and others are longer but I get no break !!! ... one of liz's favourite things for me at the moment are 'suprise reps' however its not a suprise anymore, as I go in expecting the worst so im half hoping she might lay off them for a while, but im not so sure.
Listening to everyone going on about BUCS this weekend made me feel like I wish id gone to university instead of work but then I watch everyone stressing about exams and stories of people not sleeping and staying up til the not so early hours working away and the green eyed monster disappears as I hated exams at school and didnt see the point in me being there because I didnt have the attention span to revise and also because I wouldnt remember it when it came up anyway. However it would be nice to be apart of the atmosphere of it all (the racing and the fun stuff, not the exams). Maybe one day il go but it probably wont be in this country if I do, im still looking at the idea of the US but im settled here at the moment and want to see where this takes me, I can always revise it later if I feel somethings missing or I want a change of environment.
Well Done though to everyone who raced at BUCS or Millfield last night... Saw some decent results and it looks like its going to be a good season!!
...x
