Junior AAA's Bedford 3000m
Sorry its late....
This was the big race of the season it was the Junior AAA's and the World Junior Trial Races. Although i'd already run the World Junior Trial 5000m in Manchester, its always important to run well at the British Champs so this was my aim when I lined up in the U20 3000m on Sunday.
When I normally race I usually start quite quickly but I said to my dad before hand that I was going to start slower and just let the initial rush happen and then sort myself out. However when the gun went I didnt stick to this plan and placed myself in 3rd out in lane 2... This was my first mistake because id already not followed my 'plan' and from there on in I was back and forth like a yoyo. The pace wasnt 'quick' throughout any of the race really, I think this had something to do with the wind. When it did pick up I should of gone with it but I didnt and I dont know why.... Also I got preoccupied with trying to get round some girl who was sprinting back and forth to stop me getting past... it seemed pointless as in the end I dont know where she finished and I was annoyed at myself for not being able to switch off from her and get on with my own race plan, If I had of done I honestly believe I would of got bronze instead of 5th... but I didnt so came 5th in a very slow 9.50 compared to the winners 9.25.
Next race out is Senior AAA's 5000m.. I have something to prove to myself here more than anybody else and I have to run my own race, which is what im trying to sort out in my head this week....
Results: Emelia, Kate, Hannah, Annabelle, Myself, Sarah.
