Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!!
Hi guys,
After one of the best weeks training I've done in a long time I finished the week looking ahead to the Great North Cross in Edinburgh. However things never seem to go as smoothly as I'd like. My second run on Monday was cut short as my achilles flared up and later on that night I could barely walk. So for the next few days I hardly did any running at all. Not the best preperation for the race at the weekend!!
So
Phase 1 of the fitness test: See a physio. On Wednesday night (a massive shout out and thankyou to Paul Martin for fitting me in at such late notice) he reassured me everthing should be ok, just very painful.
Phase 1 Result: Pass.
Phase 2 of the fitness test: Test out the injury with a half session. Thursday night was decision time. Could I get through the race?. After struggling through a short session feeling the injury every step, I somehow knew I'd manage. It definatly was alot better so the answer was 'Yes'.
Phase 2 Result: Pass.
So the race was a 'Go'. I knew I was in decent shape from the BPTT last week and as long as my injury would hold up I'd be fine.
Look out for the race report which will be up soon
Thanks for the read
Drapes
