The Unknown
I've always enjoyed running indoors. Some say that tall people struggle indoors because of the tighter bends etc but standing just over 6'1 I've never had a problem (neither has Speighty by the way he's running).
I made the conscious decision not to run the AAA's indoors last year as I was trying some other things out in training so when it came around this year I was really looking forward to it. Training had been going really well and I knew I could run pretty fast, it was just a question of how fast?!.
I find when you get yourself into great shape and you start running sessions in training that you weren't able to do before you find yourself in unknown territory. For example I knew I was capable of running a PB at the weekend I just wasn't sure how much of one! It ends up that it was a 11 seconds!! So going into the race I was a little nervous which isn't a bad thing.
After executing the race plan well and feeling really strong I finished second behind Nick who ran a really ballsy race. Fair play to him for that. I was really pleased because at last all the hard work is paying off. Check out the race report for more of my thoughts on the race.
Job done
Onto the next one
