Trainingsession Week Ending 17th May 2009

Monday 11th May:

One run, 60 mins.  Have an old route which is 9.5 miles measure and so decided to run a bit harder today.  Went through in 51.50, then onto the hour.  Was pretty happy considering on my own and the wind was ridiculous, made it feel like at times you weren't even running forward but I was pleasantly surprised with the time.

Tuesday 12th May:

am: 30 easy, very windy

pm: Track, switching sessions around with Thursday as so windy.  (2 x 5 x 200 1 min rest first, lap jog then 2 mins second set) (26.0, 27.2, 26.7, 27.0, 27.1) (25.8, 26.2, 26.1, 26.3, 26.2)  Happy enough, some of the guys joined me which helped make the session more fun.  Have no change of pace and just very stiff and not relaxed but all good.

Wednesday 13th May:

am: 40 mins easy, felt legs a little heavy

pm: 45mins with David, really nice to run with him as it has been a while, and we were running pretty strong so happy enough, was windy but mild

Thursday 14th May:

am: 30 mins easy, nice and relaxed

pm: Track. (4x 300 off 2 mins then 2 x 400 off 5 mins then 1 x 600) (40.4, 38.1, 42.6, 42.0, 57.0, 56.8, 1.28.0)

Really struggled, did the first rep on own and then some of the other lads were running a quick 300 so I jumped in on that, they ran 36 and it dragged me round to a 38, flooded the system and cost me my session!  Still need to put myself in that sort of pain and deficit, so it served it's purpose, and I know what I need training wise!  Was hoping for faster 40's for the 300's, 54's for the 400 and 1.24 but not to be.  Could hardly lift the legs to be honest but I'm sure it will come back quickly. Was windy again, although not as bad as Tuesday so right to switch sessions around.

Friday 15th May:

One run of 45 mins, nice and easy.  Legs felt heavy from last night.

Saturday 16th May:

Track, decided to start some speed type drills, plyometrics/bounding and sprints 5 x 30, 4 x 40, 3 x 50.  My brother joined me which was good, although I am so slow!!

Flew to Switzerland so no time for evening run.

Sunday 17th May

One run 1hr 25 mins.  Really good.  Weather was glorious and found a really good route/trail, about 22 degrees, although last 15 the clouds came in and the sky opened.  Got absolutely drenched!  Still was good fun, and was not cold so really enjoyed it.  Kati came on the bike which helped.  No wind!
