Trainingsession Week Ending 25th Jan 2009
Monday 19th January am: 5 x 400 off 4 mins rest @55.0 last one 53.3 Felt good and running quite relaxed. 1st one was the toughest and then found a strong rhythm. Good to be doing a seesion with James again, just makes it go much quicker
pm: 4.4 miles easy, just so much easier running with a bit of warmth, felt so easy
Tuesday 20th January am: Fly to Bermuda to NYC
pm: Ran easy 4.7 miles around Central Park. 1st time ever in NYC and was great to run in a different place. Was freezing though, -6 without the windchill and covered in snow, but really good fun. Although so much harder to run in the cold.
Wednesday 21st January am: Went to the track to see the place and do a session. Really great place and track feels fast. Did 8 x 200 off 2 mins rest. First rep was 25.7, and I was only trying to run easy. So slowed down and ran 26's for the other 7 feeling great. Hopefully feel as good as this on Saturday
Thursday 22nd January am: easy run around Central Park 4.7 miles, felt pretty good and relaxed
pm: easy 3.5 miles around Central Park, felt sluggish and tired but then had done the sightseeing thing today and been on my feet walking most of the time so not really worried
Friday 23rd January pm: Easy 3.4 miles, felt better than yesterday evening and then a few strides and felt like the legs were turning over fine, so really looking forward to racing now
Saturday 24th January am: Easy 1.7 miles loosener
pm: Race New Balance Games at the Armory. 2nd in 4.00.31. Rob Myers took 1st in 3.59.9. Good field and happy with run but disappointed not to go sub 4 but I'll take the position and time for first race out
Sunday 25th January am: Run 90 mins around Central Park with James and Rob Myers. Was good as 7000 people running around doing a half marathon so we had the biggest pack run ever! Just nice and steady and enjoyable.
