Back to it!

Had a great few days in Switzerland, although I have to say I really didn´t want to come home, and would love to be able to have some sort of income so that I could stay their permanently.  It is at the moment impossible as I don´t speak the language.  I think that the training would be really good there, with some great trails and cracking scenery, not to mention the mountains and hills.  The one thing i do not have living in Cambridge is hills.  As such I am rubbish at them, and really struggle if any race has even the slightest incline, so it would be good to spend a period of time living in an area that would test me daily, even on steady runs.  Still such is life and I am sure something will sort itself out soon.  Skiing went well and I really feel that I have improved massively, but it does help when your girlfriend is an expert and can give you all the tips needed to get better!  Legs though took a hammering, even though fitness wise it´s not a problem, when you simply run, you only use certain muscles and so now my legs are really sore, well they were come Sunday night.  Flew back on Tuesday and went for an hour run on Wednesday to ease myself back into it.  The weather was great, the sun was out and I really enjoyed it which is the most important thing.  Today I ran this morning and then did 7 x 1k in the evening.  Nothing too stupid, just inside 3 mins off 90 seconds rest, again to ease myself back into sessions having taken a week off.  My best mate David Connell kept me company for the first 600 of each rep which really helped make the session go quicker.  I felt pretty good and I am now really looking forward to getting a few good weeks in before the spring road relay season.  The guys at Runnerslife are working hard to get my video diary of Turin done for the site, so hopefully that will be up soon and everybody can get a glimpse of what goes on at a Championships, although I warn you that the initial camera work is a little dodgy, as are my personal talks, although they do get better as I get used to the camera and talking in front of it!

Thats about it for now, will check in after the weekend.
