Trainingsession Day Seven- Costa Del Wolvo Camp

AM- 90 mins long run

Final main run of the week. Met up with mart williams again and did a decent off road loop. Felt a bit "leggy" this morning, but it was expected after the session yesterday and how the week has gone. Felt decent towards the end of the run so picked it up a bit- but nothing major.

PM- 25 mins + Drills

Usually end the week with a drills session. Ive also started throwing a run in on a sunday afternoon. Had planned to run 30 mins but to be honest got bored after 20 so cut it short and did more drills instead. Run was hard work- legs felt terrible so didnt push it. The drills are a big part of the week for me- they help break up the routine of running day in, day out and put a bit of spring back into the legs.

WEEKLY MILEAGE TOTAL: 105 miles

A big week for me. I rarely go over the 100, but without work in the way i found it comfortable to do this along with the hard sessions- enjoyed extending the morning runs a bit, but more so having the time to recover after sessions has been a big bonus. Will drop the mileage next week a few days before the relays, but not dramatically.

Comments On "Day Seven- Costa Del Wolvo Camp"

Ian, it would be great to be a full time athlete. Ive been looking for sponsorship for years, but in the world of running- its bloody tough to attract any backers. To be honest though- ive got a way to go before I deserve that level of support. For the time being its nice just having an insight in to what life would be like on the other side..... having the chance of a few more weeks of 100 plus would be nice.

Potential and future successes!

This is real hard training and you seem to be lapping it up and raring to do more! Obviously lack of work commitment helps a great deal. Perhaps you should consider getting major sponsorship and becoming a full time runner like Simx and Mcleod!
Imagine where your success as a top elite international distance guy would reach?????
Worth consideration eh?
