The Season Goes On

It's that time of year where all the championships are over and done with, for 99.9% of us anyway. We get to watch our boys and girls in action in Berlin soon, something i'm really looking forward too. The races I can't wait to see are the women's 800 and 1500 and the mens 5000, I don't think they're our best chance of medals but I think some eyebrows may be raised at their performances as they do have the ability to cause some upsets.

Having trained with Mo back in May he was flying, he has now progressed even further and to run a 3:33 1500m the other night off primarily 5000m training I can't wait to see what he can do in that World Championship final. Same goes with the womens 800 and 1500 as they tend to go tactical so anything can happen!

I'm personally not ending my season for another month, it took me a few weeks to get going when I got back from altitude and I know there's still some fast races to come, I just have to get in the right races. I'm going to start off with a 1500 on Tuesday night at Stretford where I can hopefully get some fast times in my legs. I will also be looking at finding another 5000 before the season is over as I would love to try and get my time down further along with a 3000 as I haven't ran one yet this summer.

Training has still been going well, I was a little tired at the beginning of the week but got a solid session in on the track on Tuesday with Olympian Will Clark who represent GB in Beijing at the triathlon. We did 4x800, 4x400, 4x200 off 90seconds and the girls in the group did every other rep. Come the last 200m rep the girls were hunting me down. I had Cat Riley run me very very close to the line which was a bit of a shock but I got her on the dip!

I'll keep you all posted on how things go in the next couple weeks.
