Gone but now returned
In my last blog I talked about the tiredness I was feeling with my training. Well after a few easy days that disappeared and I managed a cracking session last Tuesday night where I did 20x70seconds on the track off 60seconds. I seen the rest of the week out, doing another good session on the grass last Saturday- it was an absolute nightmare training in thick mud though! I hated it! Still, it has to be done so it's pointless complaining about the mud as when its there in a race it doesn't bother me that much.
After Saturdays session John said to me he wanted a big mileage week from me as I'd been dropping slightly with Christmas, being ill then racing so this week I am back up the 90's. I've only ever done 2 weeks of training that high before so it really takes it out of me. I think i'm on around 55 at the moment, so I have another 35mile to run over the next few days. I'm looking forward to Fridays easy 7 mile, it's more of a rest the easy run these days!
It should do me good though going into next weeks BUCS cross country. I opted for this over an indoor 1500 in the City Challenge because at the end of the day the cross race will do me more good in the long run for the summer season. I can easily get a 1500 type session done but you can't beat a 10-12k cross race for the benefits you get!!
I'll update in a couple days with a slightly longer blog. That's all for now,
Thanks for reading.

I don't know exactly how far Bryn, but it was about 450m i'd say.
Ryan Posted on January 29th, 2010Yeah it's always better gunning for a championship medal, so i'm looking forward to it now
How far were you covering in the 70 seconds Ryan? Looks like a tough session.
Bryn R Posted on January 29th, 2010Good call on BUCS - plus you've obviously got a shot at a medal and competing in a national champs for a medal (even a student one) - has to be the right call.
