A big mileage week of around 80 off the back of the UK Champs ready for my next 5k. Tough tempo on the Thursday as the legs were tired so adjusted it so I did 9x5 rather than 3x15mins. Saturdays session was very hard as most was on my own but some very positive signs.

Apologies I didn't see you question as I'm not alerted to new comments.
I did the session with Thewlis on the Saturday so just having a presence of someone else helps. He was behind as he was in more 5k/10k shape rather than 1500/3k shape. I used to train on my own quite a lot so I can deal with it and just having someone watching helps me train that bit better. If on my own I just break the rep down and push each 200m or each lap as one, when that part is finished I aim to match it or better it on the next part.

Do you find it mentally harder when doing sessions alone. How do you motivate and push yourself (mind set)?
