1st race down
The first race of the new year is done for me and what a race it was! I've went into detail in my race report here, but I feel it's probably my best cross country race ever so i'm really happy things are starting to fall into place so early in the year. I'm looking forwards to getting some hard training in now in preparation for the indoors.
My preparation was hampered going into this as I guess everyone has been with the so called 'big freeze' the media keeps saying. A nice easy week was just what I needed for the weekend.
After the race my legs were so tired! They felt like they'd been driven over by a car, but that's when you know you've worked hard and it's a feeling I love/hate. It'll be a case of taking a few days easy now I imagine then back to the hard work soon before the next race which I'm not even sure of yet! Hopefully the Midlands Cross to help the Tipton boys out before the indoor season really kicks off.
I'm going to go and do a sun dance now as i'm sick of running on ice slipping everywhere!!

When I wear spikes in the snow i'd normally just go for my track spikes to give a small amount of grip however this morning I had 15mm spikes in my xc spikes just to stop me slipping on the hardpact ice! It's just a case of finding what suits to the conditions.

Ryan do you wear or recommend spikes for training in the snow over grass?
