Back To The Routine
After being pretty ill last week i'm happy to say i've so far recovered. I felt like I could run come Monday so I did an easy easy run just to test the water. It all went fine with a 20 minute shuffle so I went out again on the evening to do 30 minutes. My legs did feel a little strange having not ran for 2 weeks and it's taken me a few days to get the 'running' feeling back but after meeting with John, my coach in Loughborough, I am finally motivated again to get working hard.
I think it'll just be a case of easy/steady running for the next week or so then we'll look at picking certain areas of my training up and hopefully start doing some sessions.
I've also decided to study for a couple of years too while being based in Loughborough. I know myself I'm going to be here for another 3 years as any athlete has a dream of making the Olympics and me being in Loughborough is only going help boost my chances of making the GB team. This also means i'm now once again eligible for BUCS! I'll be looking forward to pulling on that purple vest again and doing some uni races.
That's all from me for now, i'll keep you all posted on how the training progresses over the next few weeks.

yes living a full time ekite runners life in loughborough must be boring at times!
John D Posted on September 23rd, 2009Living, eating and sleeping for running can become monotonous and lonely man!
Good luck with the course- at least you have the best training partners and facilities on hand!
Yes John, it's a sports development and management course. I decided I was staying in the area for a few more years so I signed up to the course to bring some routine back into my days.

John Davies Posted on September 17th, 2009I hope you will be studying a sports related degree course?
Your in the best place for both running and a sports related qualification-so make the most of your time there!
