On to the first race of the winter
After a week of running I've decided i'm fit enough to race the cross country relays this weekend. 10 days ago I was starting to get a little frustrated and doubting whether or not i'd be running at all over the last week but thankfully things turned around and it's all behind me now. I really pushed on once I got going with my training and over the last 7 days i've ran 70+ miles, yes i feel very tired from it but that's the feeling I wanted!
This morning I got my 2nd session in after Saturdays which I did on the hills in Bradgate Park, today I did 15x1minute on the grass. I felt pretty good doing it and most importantly very strong. I had a doubt that I wouldn't have much strength after having time off but I guess I'll find that out when I get something like 10x1k done. Now i'm going into Mansfield very optimistic about my performance. I'm unsure of my relay leg just yet, so if i'm on first i'll just give it my all and if i'm running one of the others it'll be a case of reeling in as many as possible ahead of me while still giving it my all!
For everyone competing at the National Relays best of luck and it'll be good to catch up with a few familiar faces on Saturday. Finally a massive congratulations to Steve and Maria on the birth of their new baby girl, i'm sure you'll be great parents. Enjoy the sleepless nights!!
