Positive signs
Things are finally starting to look up, I ran yesterday for 15mins on the grass to test out my achillies and it went ok so I ran again this morning for 35 at normal pace and again it felt fine.
As I'm up home for a couple of days I got out for a run with my brother, who is finally starting to get back fit after a year and a half off. He had a pretty bad foot problem that nobody could diagnose and it's eventually worn off so it'll be good to see him race again as he isn't too slow when he gets going and pushes through his pain barrier!
We just did a steady 50mins tonight and my achillies seemed ok, I felt a little twinge going up a steep incline over the A1 but it didn't develop and it wore off. Now all i'm concerned about is getting some sessions in so that I am fit enough for the road relays. The National 6 stage is one of my favourite races in the calendar and I'm yet to even have a complete team in the event! I've always been a fan of the roads, so to finally have a competitive team up there with me helping them improve their position if i'm selected will be great! I just want to say well done to the lads who competed in the Midland Relays at the weekend, hopefully we can all build on that come the Nationals.
I'm going to get an early night in now as I'm heading back down to Loughborough in the morning after my short visit home to see the family before my course starts.
