A day in the life of.....well me, it is my blog!

I was awoken by a phone alarm from the other side of the bed which was quickly knocked on to 'snooze' this is my first gripe of the day! I have never understood the 'snooze' and people who use them, famously sp8y annoyed the hell out of me for the 3 weeks with his ritual 3 snooze's each morning in Morocco. Surely you just put the alarm to the time you have to get up otherwise your just ruining you sleep by waking up 3 times. Anyway I popped Chris Moyle's on, not that I'm a massive fan but the best reception I get on the radio is radio1 so it will do. Lee got up and went for a shower while I made some breakfast including the reliable Weetabix, now even though I will be swimming in less than 30minutes I have been fascinated by the old saying 'you should never eat before swimming' and want to know what happens if you do so I am playing a little game to see how close I can eat and what will happen!!

7.30am and Lee is off to the big city to follow her dreams, or at least earn a living while I drive 5 minutes down the road to the pool. I kept my gloves on for the small drive as the heaters wouldn't have time to warm up and i`m a big girl, I even jogged the 10m to get indoors sharpish. Humans are creatures of habit and I prove this by always going to my same spot in the changing rooms and feel uneasy if someone else is already there, I then always use the same aqua float and have a little shower before I go into the pool with the same shower. I did my 'session' yesterday so just did 30minutes and then swam for 15minutes before bypassing the Jacuzzi reluctantly as I have to open the shop this morning. I had a chat with a couple of the old guys hearing how one has his M.O.T today and another is making a trip to the tip....cant wait till I'm old an retired!

I hit the old motorway and straight away someone commits 1 of my top 10 hates while driving, I let her come out into the middle lane by the good old flash the headlights, I felt good about myself having done something good but I quickly changed to wanting to ram her BMW when she couldn't even raise a hand to say thanks. Before the 30minute drive has ended pretty much every pet hate has happened and I have lost faith in humanity and I am still convinced women should not be allowed to drive!

Although I suppose its a risk the boss trusts me to open the shop and I get everything done ready to open to the running world by 9.30am and even manage a sneaky game of online monopoly and send a couple of emails to Sharpy before customers rush in to meet me, well to buy trainers but I like to think the former! As I have worked both Monday and Tuesday I am only doing half day so Andrew comes in to take over and we enjoy a happy shopper cup of tea while listening about his trip to Euro Disney which made me jealous and bitter as I cant afford a holiday, while he told me about all the great rides I just wanted to throw my tea in his face but told myself this wouldn't help me get a holiday so just drank it instead.

2pm and I grab my stuff, well a scarf and coat and hit the road.....I'm free!! Then by the time I get to the car I remember I agreed to do the weekly shop and have to spend the next hour in Sainsbury's with the only good thing being I get a free run down the dairy product aisle to jump on the trolley and fly down which at least made up slightly for doing the food shop.

It's half four and I have put a load in the washing machine and had some lunch. I was going to get in another chapter of the Bret 'The Hitman' Hart book before a little jog to see how the foot is doing but I am going to change the plan and grab a sneaky hour nap and before you ask I won't be using the snooze button!!

I know what you mean, retired life does sound great!! Although I know retired people who do more than you!! ; ).

Hope the injury clears up soon pal and you can get back running! Nothing quite as frustrating as an injury!
