Wicks Wedding

You can tell a lot about a person from their wedding day, the last wedding I went to was big and full of personality with live bands, free bar all night, games and things to do reflect the couple's very outgoing and party nature.

This was Phil Wicks wedding and his bride, Emily Adams and again it reflected the person he is along with Emily (although I don't know her as well). For a start you notice his private nature with only me as a fellow runner at the wedding, it was very relaxed and chilled atmosphere and very family orientated. Every thing went like clockwork and was the perfect day and if you ever talk to him about training he probably treated the wedding planning in the same way.

Luckily the weather was good and the church and reception were in beautiful locations. I am always amazed how he fits everything in, in his life and found out from his friends how little time he really has when after dinner I asked one of his school friends "So how do you see Phil these days?" he turned and laughed "He never has any time, I see him on the way to my parents once a month but with all his work and training I don't think anyone see's him apart from Emily". It was again a sign of Phil that his friends there were from his school days, I was actually on the table of 'Phil's friends' which were some school friends, Pete Willis (old training partner) and Luke who was a work colleague of his best man Matt Whiting (possibly the nicest man in the world!).

Below are a few pictures but of course the after meal dancing and drinking (very little in case George is reading) have been left out, Phil would kill me if I put the picture of him dancing naked on the tables on here!

Emily looked amazing and I hope they were both very pleased with their big day and enjoy their honeymoon. The fact that Wicksy did a session in the morning of his wedding makes me believe he will probably be training on the little island in the Maldives!
The best part of the day which was a lovely thing for Phil to say was during the speech "I am so glad that all my favourite people in the world are here to share Emily and my special day"....this sums Phil up as a person in one line....I even had a tear, although said to Pete sat next to me that I had just yawned.
