Athleteprofile

'Jogger' turned 'runner', Simon Jones ran just inside 36 minutes for 10k and 78 minutes for Half Marathon when he was 17 but enjoying the challenge running brings him he ran under 30minutes for 10k and under 66minutes for Half Marathon 6 years later at the age of 23. Having had more clubs than most (six since he started) he is not afraid to try something new or change certain things if he is not happy, he puts everything in to training but likes to switch off from running when ever he can with a lot of time spent watching other sports (cycling, Formula 1, boxing, football etc...). Simon will always give 100% and never forgets where he was when he started, recently donating his prize money to the last place finisher.

In the words of Kevin from 'Home Alone'....Woof!! That was a tough 10k run.   As a virgin of the UK trials it was all new to me that day although I was thinking 'how different can it be'. This is the second year for the Bridgend city centre 5k race and a great effort by everyone is involved with the race as it is improving and a race a like.
