Greatest Band in the World
There's only a few things I would change training for but an Oasis concert is one of them (if Stevie Gerrard rang for a drink I would as well!). So last night I did my session on the road at 3.45pm as driving to track and back would be to long, did 18x1min hard with 45sec recovery if anyone cares, before a quick shower and heading to Aarons house!
As usual I was late and Aaron was waiting outside with Daniel and as I hadn't eaten I did stop for the good old McDonalds (good excuse really though) and of course the boys didn't want to be rude and let me eat alone so begrudgingly ordered some food as well. We got to Cardiff at about 6pm and went straight in to watch the mighty Kasabian as the warm up but in fact did as good as the main act....Oasis.
Cracking concert and came away smelling a mixture of beer and wee, anyone who goes to a concert and in the 'mosh pit' will know what I'm talking about!! And don't think there is a better night out that a good concert and would take it over a night club any day off the week, I got home after a lucozade refuel after hitting the 'wall' jumping for a good few hours and some food before bed.
It has been the first of a few weeks hard again and I am feeling it with lots of sleep and tired legs, and with an eye infection the week has dragged a bit and can't wait to bag it and move on. I raced Tuesday which went well though, winning and in a time of 14.47 it was a decent time for a course that never seems to have got fast times, and running from start to finish I was happy with the run.....solid.
Wednesday nearly killed me having to do my 18miler at night as I am taking part in the famous Castles relays on the weekend, It's a 2 day relay over some tough mountain stages ( I have one of the 4 king of the mountain stages) and takes an awful lot of organising! I will be racing for second claim club Neath Harriers as Belgrave won't be taking part...maybe one year we should try and enter ourselves but with teams like Sale and Salford it will be tough enough.
I'm off to bed for an early start....O and hope everyone ran well at Watford.
Simx
