Holiday!!

Well I'm off for a little holiday....to Gateshead! Not my number one destination for a winter holiday but will be fun all the same I'm sure. It will probably be a really good 'training weekend' with a good session Saturday over 9k of country against a quality field (so I hear) and then a good long run Sunday with the Welsh lads and anyone else who fancy's I suppose.

It will be a nice change of scenery for a couple of days and getting flights instead of driving was a great call whoever decided that. I'm going into it quite confident and looking forward to it although I know my place and don't expect to beat guys like Draper if he is there although I might try and hang on for a few 'k's and see how long I can last. It would have been good to do Brighton 10k and have a more accurate view where I am at the moment but it has worked out better really....and I can still get the Sunday long run in!

That said Brighton does look like it will be more competitive this year and few of the training group will be heading down south (Hobbs brothers and Craig Hopkins). I will just have to wait for my next road race which might be boxing day, Matt Janes won it last year as he visits parents in the area so I might give him a run for his money this year the tubby, jaffa cake eating Bedford boy.

Before my dad takes me to the airport and I go from cue to cue like some poorly treated sheep for the next hour and being reduced to tears being sat next to some smelly person for the plane journey {take a quick breath} the only thing I have to look forward to is 'Sonic' game or a film that Aaron has kindly put on the Itouch for me I shall wish everyone good luck who is racing this weekend and I hope I beat you all in Gateshead!
