Battle of Britain!

Well forget Celtic Vs Arsenal I thought Saturday was going to be like the royal rumble of track racing (used to stay up all night to watch the royal rumbles!), Steve 'Sharpman' Sharp taking on his young, up and coming superstar athlete Nick 'YTS' Goolab. Imagine the banter before, during and after the run we might of even had a full out scrap on the track.

I know from personal experience how much fun it is to race a good friend...and win, my sprint finish at Manchester caught Sharpy cold and the dip at the line would of impressed Colin Jackson but some how they have ended up in different races so we will never know what would of happened....that said if Goolab did win I'm sure he would be walking back to Birmingham.

Instead it will have to be me taking on Ryan in the 5,000m but in saying that he has run a fast 1500m and 5k this year already so it might be more a case of how close can I get rather than a battle but as always I will give it what I can and you never know. It is obviously going to be fast with guys like Chris Thompson and Andy Vernon but il have a couple of cheer leaders with me (Lee and Friend) so hopefully that will help on the back straight and with Maria being there with Sharp I will hear her screaming me on so that's got to be worth a few seconds....who knows the camera might even be there to catch some of the action and reaction of the RunnersLife boys.
