Grass....and more grass!

Having just signed up for another cross country race I think I am doing more this winter than in the last 5 years put together! Ex RunnersLife and now competition manager for Welsh athletics, James Thie, invited me to Gateshead on the 14^th this week which I am looking forward to and by the looks of it I may be the old guy of the team at just 25!.

I would usually take a break at this time of the year and this time last year I was looking forward to 7 days in New York where as now I am looking forward to running in a relay....on grass! The world has gone mad. So that's 2 cross race's before November is out, I think because the summer was so rubbish and with a new coach and don't really feel like I need a break but I might take a few days off after the European trials in Liverpool.

So that's the plan up to my Birthday (hint, hint). I would still say that the surface is not my favourite but maybe because the first race went alright or because its what George wants but think and hope it will make a difference over the winter...well if its good enough for 'Wicksy' then its good enough for me, Which reminds me the big guy is booked into hotel 'Jonesy' in January so I need to get fit just to keep up with him on a long run.
