Physio
I ended up on the physio bed this afternoon after a weekend where nothing seemed to go to plan.
I stayed in Hereford Friday night with Daniel (web man) which was about the only thing that didn't go wrong this weekend. I had a good night sleep and enjoyed the delight of a Clint Eastwood film (Grand Tarino) Saturday morning before watching Liverpool dispense of Man Utd in the weekends early fixtures which was particularly pleasing for me as a Liverpool fan...if you missed the match it ended 1-4 at Old Trafford.
Daniel took to the wheel of his newly purchased car and headed to Manchester, with a lack of good music and a bumpy ride in his sports car (compared to the Audi that Aaron took me to Hereford) I passed the time by updating twitter for RunnersLife and reading about Lance Armstrong's day on the same website where he got tested, rode with Thor Hushovd and watched Paris-Nice on telly.
Got to Manchester in the 'green goblin' and seemed to spend more time trying to get through the city than from Hereford to Manchester. I was staying at my Brothers place and after an easy little run (20mins) we enjoyed the flavours of a dominos pizza, my preferred pre-race meal, although I quickly found out 'hot and spicy' really is HOT and SPICY!!
After sleeping next to a Rhino, sorry I mean Dan, and after an interrupted sleep shall we say I had breakfast at 6:30am before we went to Trafford. {Read race report}
After the race we headed back to my brothers and hung around playing playstation and losing to other people on the net also playing GTA but must sit there all day every day because I couldn't get close to any of them....not bitter though.
The journey back was a depressing one with not even taking part in the race but this was cheered up when I was moved like a parcel from Daniel's to Aaron's car, I wont go into details but it was the hardest I have laughed for a while and Aaron has a brand new monitor even if it is a little big!
This brings me to the Physio, Jackie Zaslona, because of the injury suffered in the warm up I rang Jackie that afternoon and she managed to fit me in on lunch break to check me out. In 'Jonsey' terms I had pulled something in my bum which had caused the pain, if I had raced I would put extra strain on this and it would have almost certainly resulted in a serious problem and put me out for at least 2 weeks. As it was I stopped and the problem as settled down, I can jog along with more treatment and the injury should be cleared in the next few days maybe sooner. It was heck of a journey for nothing but it could have been a lot worse, maybe I am finally getting experienced!
