Ok first off an easy comment to answer, about the running chip (or lack of) at the Cardiff Half. I was not wearing one, not because I was being awkward or anything like that but because I forgot it! In the whole rush of racing back from Birmingham, eating, trying to get to bed quickly and then getting up early to go to Cardiff it just slipped my mind. When I got there I let the organisers know as these race's usually have spares and they said as I was likely to be at the front end I could run without one if I wasn't bothered as my time would be gun to tape. They wanted to keep the spares for people further back in on the start line which would be more beneficial as they might not cross the line for a few minutes etc,.

The comment made by 'guest' which is pretty easy to work out and didn't need to draw on my 'diagnoses murder' skills for I have picked up over time was a fair comment in the fact of Simon Lawson winning which I don't have problem and agree...he is the fastest guy ever in Britain at Half Marathon for U20 and braking Andreas Jones Welsh record of 30.05 (I think) earlier this year was very impressive as he run second half alone and Andreas went on to run 28.00 for 10k. I disagree however with the vest issue but have decided to comply with it as I have told Welsh Athletics....I now have a white Saucony vest (second registered vest colour for Belgrave) which I will wear at Championships from now on and everyone will be a winner.

The weekend went well I think if not a little wet. Lots of guys were missing from the group for different reasons Saturday so I was all alone (well for a while) for 8x1k alternating fast and controlled in 2.49 / 3.03. Now this was the great bit....former hero as a young gun growing up was Mark Morgan who is doing a bit of training now and he turned up for the session and could see I was all alone so offered to be my rabbit. He would go off in front and then as I caught him he would run at the front for as long as he could which was great and a bit surreal to be honest. It would be amazing to see him get back and involved with racing again at a decent standard but no pressure, it would be great just to have him in sessions regularly and around the group as his story's and presence can only be a good thing.

Hi D.Buzza...guessing 'dave'?! hehe

Well the welsh chief executive told me that simon lawson t-shirt counted because it was the same colour as the vest....so Belgrave told me their second registered vest was white because of gary staines and paul evans being with Nike back in the day and wanted to count for the marathon champs (London)but had to wear a white nike vest for the deal (which was probably a decent deal!). So I have come to the conclusion that this is fine so long as the colour is the same.

I will be wearing it at the next welsh champs and let you know if I get my medal. Dont see why I shouldnt now though as he has emailed saying the same so will remind him of his words should I not get one! hehe

I think everyone should try and lets see if it works!

You know what they say Simon - when the chips are down..!

Whats this about second claim vest. Are you saying that you can wear a plain white vest with saucony logo on and this counts as a Belgrave vest for national team championship purposes?

Must look into whether my club have something similar. I am sponsored by New Balance and always have this problem when turning out for my club. The sponsors want me to wear NB gear but i cant score for the team if i dont wear my club vest. Talk about divided loyalties.

Do i wear my club vest with pride or keep my sponsors happy by wearing my snassie new kit?

Cheers.

D. Buzza.
