I went for the old 'News of the World' headline, the actual story is not quite as good as it sounds, there are naked women involved though....just not pretty ones!

Saturday I went down to do a session on the beach which I like to do, it takes a bit of effort to get over to this beach but then that's why it is so quiet and worthwhile. So I ran about 20mins over the sand dunes to get there with my flats and bottle of water in a little back pack and arrived to the 2mile+ stretch of beach and I could see about 5 people down the far end, a few people fishing in front of me and a few people the other end....that was it, on the hottest day of the year. I did the drills and strides and the sea was looking very tempting. The session was 3x3minutes to start with, 2min recovery jog so I  ran down the beach and as I came to the end of the 3minutes I thought I saw a naked women walking into the sea! Did a little jog back then turned around again to do the next 3 minutes back the same way to check out what I thought I saw. I was right, by the end of the next rep I saw about 6 naked people....and in typical fashion they were old, wrinkly with boobs dragging along the sand. Also why is it that nude women have hair down to their feet....get a haircut.

I finished the last 3minutes going the other way. Next part was 4x1min flat out with a minute recovery, job done and I was back to 2x3minutes but now I was starting to notice the odd person in the high dunes with binoculars......does everyone know this is where the naked people hang out?! I did check when I got back and it's not a 'nudist beech' but I suppose they think it is so quiet no one will see or ask them to leave. If nothing else it took my mind off how flipping hot it was and how hard it made the session! I did take a little dip in the water before running the 20mins back home to have an ice lolly and a cold shower.

Training in general has gone ok for me and I am building up slowly, I don't really know mileage wise as the George writes the training in paragraph form as he doesn't seem to like to count it, more of a case for running for a reason so I don't really check anymore. Sessions though are going ok although not as fast as I would like but the effort is there, I am hoping to do another 5k race sometime over the next 2 weeks and will either be AAA 5k in Blackburn, Norwich 5k or a track 5,000m BMC event. Once I get back under 15 I will start looking at doing the longer stuff then like 10k's etc,.

My comeback has been put in to perspective though having learnt of Matt Almonds problems recently and good mate Lewys 'Cancellara' Hobbs having a nasty accident on the bike over the weekend. Hopefully Lewis will be out of hospital soon and Matt will be able to start running again so we can organise a 3,000m race off......all the best guys!
