Ooo...look at the new product review section! Well done guys.
Thursday
I feel a bit woozy, I'm not even sure it's a word but one I like. I went out for a 12/13miler yesterday (brisk sub 6mile) and then at night my throat was a bit rough, I couldn't work out if it was the cold air I was breathing or if I was coming down with something. This morning I was still feeling the throat a bit so decided to move the rest day forward and move the session to Friday which shouldn't be a problem if the throat goes away. I hate this time of year, everyone is getting ill and happily coughing around the place while the weather changes every day going from very cold to mild, then back to very cold again. At this time I would not to be to bothered if I caught something as cross country is not really my thing anyway but what I do hate is being in the middle....I'm not ill but not quite right.
Friday
I went out for the easy morning run and felt pretty heavy and slow around the sand dunes but then I hadn't run since a 12miler sub 6mile pace so it could be just that I'm stiff. As I had the day off I had breaky and then went back to bed for a few hours until I just couldn't sleep anymore, after Lunch I decided to give the session a bash as I don't really feel ill just a bit 'woozy'. The session was on the grass... 15minute run, 1x6minute (85%), 2minutes easy jog recovery, 1x4minute (85%), 1minute easy jog recovery, 1x2min (95%), 15minute run. The actual 15minutes were rubbish to be fair, just felt a bit slack, the session went ok though?! On one of my designed courses over Kenfig dunes I knocked it out quickly while Britain's work force were flying past on the M4 to the right of me which I find always push's me on with the thought I might have to be up there soon.
Weekend
Saturday I was working 9.30am-5pm in the shop so went out at 7am for the morning run which was a bit stale but then the night run after standing for so many hours was better, couldn't work that one out. Dad came to pick me up at 11am to drive me to Bristol for the 4k and the drive was pretty smooth and took about 1 hour 30minutes. The only real problem was the race had advertised a 2.05pm start but when we got there it was 1.40pm start, not sure how that happened. It affected Steve Davies more than me who arrived at 1.20pm thinking the same as me and had a little shock to find out it was moved forward.
The race showed up my weakness on country within 30seconds, 'Wicksy' has given me some tips but the start went off fast (well it seemed fast to me) which probably cost me a better finish, but that's my fault and something I will have to work on.
{see race report}
Sunday night = Kasabian concert....so I bid you good night as I know I will enjoy mine!!
