Little Leah

What a week.....................

It all started last Sunday. It was Leah's christening and I was on my way to pick Goolab up and my fuel was running low so I decided to pull in and get some petrol. After paying I jumped back into my pride and joy and headed off to Nicks house which was only round the corner. Then all of an sudden after a few metres the car started to shudder, I kept my foot down hoping it would clear, but it just got worse, I decided to head back to the petrol station and after pulling up there and looking at the pump I realised I had put diesel in my petrol car............. OMG...............now we have a big problem. The christening is in 1 hour and I'm stuck in Birmingham with a broken car. I phoned Nick who came down and offered no help apart from...........oh shit. Then from out of no where the was a glimmer of hope...... was it superman.............was it bateman..............was it danger mouse..........no, it was Phil Nicholls hammering his misses Fiesta in to the ground. Nick slid across the bonnet and I jumped in, we were away, and had 17 minutes to get there. Some how we managed to make it with 1 minute to spare thanks to "god father" Phil Nicholls - thanks pal. The christening was wicked and we all had a great day, even if I was £250 lighter after getting the car fixed.

Then there was Armagh.........

Maria and Leah had picked up nasty colds on Monday and I did my best to keep clear. On Wednesday I felt ok, but Thursday during the day I felt a bit off. I decided to go and race hoping I would be ok, and how wrong was I. After 1 lap I was feeling really crappy, and after 2 laps my legs were dead. I decided to pull out after another 800 metres or so. I felt really dizzy and shitty along with being so gutted as I always run well in this race. It was great to catch up with the Belgrave boys. Friday was a really hard day for me and I almost chucked it in, but after a chat with a few people thought against it. Saturday and Sunday where days off and although I still have a cold I ran easy on Monday and Tuesday(today). Nick winning the National really cheered me up, although I wish the US uni's would leave him alone. Why do UKA let all our best younger runners go abroad. Surely there has to be something done to stop this.

I also read on Nicks blog that I should get coach of the year. Now we all know that is way off the mark, but I could easily win best looking coach. I mean when your up against Woodsie, Buldaro, Gandy etc......and me looking like Brad Pitt would always pull in the votes.

So apart from the above not much has happened running wise. Hopefully I will recover fast and have a few good weeks training before the relays start.

Run Happy
