Nightmare
Well what a manic last few days its been.............
First of all there has been a right cock up with the dates for the relays. First it was the 17th, then it was the 10th, and then back to the 17th. During this time we(me & Nick) had booked our warm weather training to Portugal from the 14th Apr - 23rd. Then it was announced that it was definitely the 17th, my heart sank as I have been a ever present in the relay's for the last 8 years or so. Now you might think it would be easy to change flights for me and Goolab, but Maria and Leah are coming out along with Maria's parents, who are flying from Ireland to meet us out there so they can spent some time with Leah. Anyway, after a hole morning of changing flights and accomadation, Maria managed to sort it all out - thank you babe. So I'm able to run the relay's, but my warm weather training is a bit messed up as we will now be out in Portugal from the 7th - 16th - not ideal. I would also like to thank Bob Smith too for calling me after reading my worry's about the dates on Eightlane. He is the manager for Newham, but still picked up the phone once he new what the dates where - he really is a top top guy, and we need more like him and Alan Mead in our sport.
Goolab has been going well and had a awesome race in the Busa. To come second was a massive run and proves he is going in the right direction. He also had some tests done which came back with Some very good results. Phil has also been training really well, although a dirty weekend away in the peak district meant he missed our track session on Tuesday. He has been rep-remanded and I have been told it will not happen again.
So, Tuesday's session was a 10*500 off 55 seconds and you add up the 500m reps to get a rough 5k time. Mine worked out at 13:51, which I was chuffed with. Since the race I have felt really good and training seems to have moved on a bit. I think I need a few more races before I get back into the shape I was in a few years ago.
Next up is Armagh, and I can't wait to catch up with Jonesy, Pollard and Kelly. I haven't seen the guys for a while, but they all know I love then loads. I will also be sporting the new Brooks kit, which looks great.
Run Happy
