Feeling Good
6 days and counting.
Relays are only around the corner and what a race it could be. Can Belgrave win for the 8th time? will Mo run? can Aldershot get Tommo out? will Wardy be at the burger stand all day? many questions that will be answered come Saturday afternoon. We look to be holding together and should have 2 pretty good teams out, although our 2 fastest guys both ran in the World Half so hopefully they will recover in time. It really could be a classic race with 6 or so teams capable of getting some sort of medal.
Training has gone really well for me the last few weeks. My long runs seem much easier and the sessions are going pretty well too. It makes such a difference when you can run bounce along and feel that you need to hold back rather than feel like a bag of shit and struggling around. I ran 80 minutes yesterday and actually enjoyed every step of the run, which is a first for me. I have also been in the gym a few times and seem to be buffing up pretty good for that all important Athletics Weekly shot.
Maria is blooming and has only 2 1/2 weeks to go until her due date. Normal chores like hoovering, washing up and cooking are a struggle, but I tell her just to take her time and not rush the jobs as she has all day to complete them. Jokes a side, she has been great for 8 or so month's and taken it all in her stride - She will be a fab mum.
Run happy

The training has been the key. Loads of steady running and cutting back on the volume of sessions has made a big difference. I think the key with Dunne is to make small inprovements week by week.
Hi Ian Posted on October 14th, 2009Regards to the Gym - this is somethink I felt would help me this winter and Dunne agreed. I only do 2 easy sessions a week, about 30 minutes a time.
Feeling good again!

Ian S Posted on October 13th, 2009Has this renewed feel good factor got anything to do with the new coach Mr Dunn?
Are the gym sessions his idea as well to build you up?
