Hello

Hello

The good news......

First of all, sorry for the lack of posting. I have been super busy with fatherhood, husbandhood, training, coaching, and attending few Christmas parties.

Training has been ticking over pretty well, although I have not done any big mileage weeks I still feel pretty fit. My sessions are going well and the long runs seem to be getting easier - a few of the sessions/runs have been - 8*600 off 1 minute recovery, ran at alternate 1:41/1:38, 4 mile tempo at 5 min pace, 12 mile Sunday run at 6:15 pace. Nothing to special, but its December, so no need to be flying. Nick has been going really well too, although a cold has hampered his training for the last 3 days. Hopefully it will be gone by the time he runs the Euro's on Sunday.

There has been some other running news with Phil and Lindsay not working together anymore. I for one was really gutted as we where getting a really good training group going, hopefully Phil will still make it down for some sessions, and who knows, I may even end up coaching him..............if your reading Phil I could be your last chance.

Leah is getting bigger by the day, which is not surprising as she is always eating. She has already been up and down the country and is a super little traveller, which is good news as next week we head off to Ireland for Christmas. She is becoming more aware of her surroundings and is beginning to smile which is soooooooooooo cute. Maria is doing great and even told me off the other day after hearing me tell Leah that Santa was not real.

The bad news.........

I read the tragic news on Eightlane regarding Peter Homes. I didn't know him personally, but read a fair few of his posts on Eightlane. He seemed a really top guy and will be missed by many. It really does put life into perspective when things like this happen. We should all make the most of our life's, and be thankful to be with our love one's over Christmas.

R.I.P

Hi Joe

Good to see you running really well mate.

I will be in Newcastle CO.Down from the 18th Dec - 2nd Jan. Where are you based? I was thinking of running the Greencastle 5, but have picked up a heavy cold so may give it a miss.
