I'm Back!

I'm back.........

Just returned from a 9 day training/holiday break in Portugal and had a awesome time. The hotel "Stella Maria" was tops and the food was yummy - may even have put a few pounds on. Training was great and i managed to jump in a few sessions with Vernon, McCormick, Merrien and the lovely Mcleod.. These guys train super hard and it was a pleasure to be able to join in. Also managed to hit a all time record of 95 miles in one week, wanted the 100 but the legs were just to tired. I will attach some pictures, but please don't let you wife's/girlfriends look as I have my shirt off in some of them!

Relay's.....................

What a day, what a team, what a win, what a captain.

I knew deep down we had an awesome team and would be very hard to beat even if Newham, Aldershot and Leeds got all there big boys out. I remember going back a few years when we had the Belgrave dream team out which included the likes of Barden, Graffin brothers, Anderson, Evans etc..... Only me and the evergreen 'Milesy' were still around from those days, although Anderson is back running and still showing class off no training. We managed to scrape under our record by 10 seconds which made my last race a captain a memorable one for sure, I hope we beat it one day as we have some stars in the making and together with some older heads we can be a force for the next 10 years. It has been a great honour to captain such a great bunch of lads who clearly all run for there team mates, hopefully my time will come again to lead the troops.

A big well done to Newham for coming second - Bob Smith is a super manager and looks after Maria while I'm racing. Also, well done to Tipton for the stunning third - Nicholls is one in a million and runs his heart out for the hoops.

Last but not least.....

Some of you might know that I have been in every winning or losing team in all the Southern/National 6 and 12 stage relay's over the last 7 years, a record that I am really proud of. But this would not be possible if Alan and his family were not involved. Alan is a super manager and has been great to run for and is a true legend in victory or defeat, Pat's cakes are yummy, although I always end up with 2 stuck together and Hazel is all over the course supporting.
