Rest
Hello all.
I'm back running after having a massive rest of 5 days and I can't believe how sluggish I feel after only having a short break. My plans are to train hard up until the beginning of November and then have a easy period when the baby arrives just to adapt etc..... Our training group looks really good for the winter with me, Nicholls, Goooolab, and a few others if our sessions are similar. I think Nicholls will be my main training partner as he is now with Lindsay, Although I will have Goolab in with us quite a lot.
I had Jonesy staying at mine on Friday night which is always lovely apart from when he looks at me with those big puppy dog eyes and asks to cuddle up with me at night, gone are the days when 2 grown men could share a bed and no questions would be asked. Anyway, he was running in the 10k at Birmingham so me, Maria and Nick went down to support him and a few of the other lads. The race itself was great with Vernon looking great and lapping the hole field, Si ran a great race too and broke the 30 minute barrier along with Norman and a few other British guys. It was a shame that there was not much support for the guys as the atmosphere was pretty shocking.
I have also been thinking about what car to get as the misses will be nicking my lovely Zafira SRI when the baby comes, although I'm sure I will still use it a few times a week as its great on the motorway. As some of you may know I do like my cars and have had a few over the years - Metro, Cavalier SRI, Nissan ZX, Vectra GSI, Subaru Impreza WRX, Skoda Fabia VRS, Skoda Octavia VRS, Astra SRI, Zafira GSI, and currently a Zafira SRI XP which is a lovely car. I have been lucky to make money on some of the cars so its not always a loss when I change. Anyway, I am really tempted to sell the car I will inherited from Maria(Panda 1.4 100 bhp) and buy a Smart Forfour Brabus 1.5 Turbo, these are funky looking cars and go like a rocket to. They also keep there money well and will surely become a classic one day.
That's all from me for a while
Keep safe and train smart.
Sharpy
xx

Winter season
Sharpy,
Ian S Posted on August 25th, 2009Are you expecting any major changes to your training schedules now that you will be working with Lindsay Duncan at the helm?
Re Bham 10k poor atmosphere- just another sign of the poor state that distance running in the UK is undergoing presently!
Feel sure that Phil Nicholls will push you hard as a training partner-be prepared for some tough sessions this winter!
